Displays

High quality displays from a variety of top brands.

At Dytos We offer a wide range of high-quality industrial displays From renowned brands such as AUO, BOE and Tianma. But also consider lesser-known brands such as Chefree and Topo-vision.

These manufacturers are known worldwide for their innovative technology, excellent image quality and long product life. Dytos is a direct partner of several manufacturers, so we can always provide the application with the right display at the best price.

Here are some important aspects and types of displays:

LCD (Liquid Crystal Display)

Operation: LCDs use liquid crystals that transmit or block light under the influence of an electric field. They need a backlight (usually LEDs) to be visible.

Advantages: Thin and light, energy efficient, and available in a wide range of sizes.

Disadvantages: Limited viewing angles, slower response time compared to OLED.

OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode)

Operation: OLEDs use organic materials that emit light when current runs through them. Each pixel can be individually turned on or off, allowing for deeper blacks.

Advantages: Deep blacks, high contrasts, flexible form factors possible.

Disadvantages: Shorter lifespan, especially blue OLEDs can degrade faster. More expensive than LCD.

LED Display

Operation: These are displays where LEDs are used directly as pixels (as opposed to LED backlighting in LCDs). They are often used in large displays such as billboards or stadiums.

Advantages: Very bright, high durability, and good visibility in bright light.

Disadvantages: Larger pixel distances (less suitable for short distances), higher power consumption.

MicroLED

Operation: A variant of LED display technology in which each pixel is formed by a micro-LED. This offers advantages of OLED without the disadvantages of burn-in.

Advantages: Extremely high brightness, energy efficient, and long life.

Disadvantages: Manufacturing is complex and expensive.

E-Paper (Electronic Paper)

Operation: E-paper displays, such as those found in e-readers, work by manipulating charged pigment particles. They require little power, only when changing the screen.

Advantages: Energy efficient, readable in bright sunlight, looks like real paper.

Disadvantages: Slow refresh rate, limited to black and white (although there are color versions).

Technological Characteristics

Resolution

Resolution refers to the number of pixels the screen can display, usually expressed as width x height (for example, 1920×1080, also called Full HD). Higher resolutions deliver sharper images.

Refresh Rate

The refresh rate indicates how often the image on the screen refreshes per second, measured in Hertz (Hz). A higher refresh rate (such as 120 Hz or 240 Hz) provides smoother motion, which is important for gaming and video.

Contrast Ratio

The contrast ratio represents the ratio of the brightness of the lightest and darkest parts of the screen. OLED displays, for example, have an infinite contrast ratio because they can produce true black levels.

Viewing angle

The viewing angle indicates how well the image remains visible when the screen is viewed at an angle. OLEDs typically have better viewing angles than LCDs.

Quick mock-up

Our stock of standard displays allows us to move quickly - from mock-ups to small-scale test series. Combined with our experience since 2012 and in-house assembly in the Netherlands, we are your reliable partner for any display project.

Trends and Innovations

Flexible Displays

Especially with the rise of OLED technology, flexible and foldable displays have become possible, enabling new forms of devices such as foldable phones.

8K Resolution

Screens with extremely high resolutions (8K and above) are emerging, although content utilizing this resolution is still scarce.

Sustainability and Energy Consumption

There is a growing focus on energy-efficient displays and sustainable manufacturing processes to reduce the carbon footprint of displays.

Innovative Technologies

Quantum Dots: A technology used in QLED displays to improve the color reproduction and brightness of LCDs.

HDR (High Dynamic Range): Improves color reproduction and brightness, leading to more realistic and vivid images, especially in film and gaming.
