Technical glass
One of the most important parts of a touchscreen is the cover. Because of its prominent presence, the cover plays a central role in the appearance of the product. Another important function of the cover is the protection of the screen and the touch sensor.
Glass cover
The most commonly used material for covers is glass. Depending on the type of pcap sensor, the cover glass thickness can range from 1 to 10 millimeters. Glass can be treated in several ways to make it sturdier. A chemical treatment is used to reinforce glass with a thickness ranging between 1 and 3 millimeters. A thermal treatment (heating) is used for a thickness between 3 and 10 millimeters.
Detailed finish
Our cover glass can be provided with beautifully finished edges such as a C-profile or faceted edges. It can also come with rounded corners and holes or recesses for the installation of motion detectors, microphones and cameras.
Dytos can also print the cover. If the cover glass is not installed behind a protective edge (basel), we often provide a black border around the outer edge of the touch sensor to make it invisible. Other extra additions such as logos, buttons and instructions can also be printed in multiple colours.
A wide range of options
Dytos can fit glass covers with various types of anti-reflection and anti-fingerprint coatings. We also use plastic covers, such as polycarbonate covers, for special cover shapes or applications that need to be vandalism resistant. The polycarbonate layer can be produced with a thickness ranging between 2 and 4 millimeters. It can also be fitted with an anti-reflection coating. Dytos can assist you in choosing the right option for you. All types of technical glass can be ordered in small numbers and be delivered quickly.
